Bordering the patio area adjacent to the site of the Franklin Farmer’s Market at The Factory, there are multiple raised gardens that hold a wide variety of plants demonstrating that many plants such as herbs, pollinator-friendly plants, and vegetables can be grown in small urban gardens. These beds are actively maintained by the Williamson County Master Gardener Association (WCMGA) members and interns.

Often interns develop individual or group gardens such as planting medicinal herbs, drought tolerant gardens, or even theme gardens like a pizza or salsa gardens. In addition, various gardening techniques are highlighted such as straw bale gardening or vertical gardening. This is a very fluid garden and we are constantly adjusting and rearranging the gardens to keep interest alive and encourage our neighbors to start their own gardens or think about container gardening on patios and decks.

We grow everything organically and encourage our visitors to “pick and taste”. We try to have Master Gardeners at the site every Saturday morning during Farmers Market to interact with the public and encourage them to think about becoming Master Gardeners and WCMGA members.

In 2021, we now have small cards to hand out that contain information about the various websites they can link to for research-based gardening information as well as important contact information for the Diagnostic Team, the WCMGA website, our Facebook page, etc.

With the new ownership of The Factory, as of 2023, we no longer have access to the gardens there. We appreciate everyone who visited an enjoyed the "fruits" of the hard work of the Master Gardener members and interns.
